As USM Seeks New Chancellor, Pres. Hrabowski Affirms Commitment to UMBC

hrabowskiOn Tuesday, Dr. William “Brit” Kirwan announced his plans to retire as chancellor of the University System of Maryland (USM). As the search begins for a new chancellor, the Baltimore Business Journal and Washington Business Journal have highlighted President Hrabowski as an exceptional Maryland leader, recognized nationally for his commitment to helping students from all backgrounds succeed.

WBJ Managing Editor Robert Terry says our president has “proven himself a visionary,” but Hrabowksi affirms he is staying put. “I’m seeing how we are building an institution that’s a national model,” Hrabowski says. “I really do believe in UMBC.”
